He began rapping in high school and gained recognition for his collaboration with Kendrick Lamar on "Knock tha Hustle (Remix)" in 2013. Cozz released his debut mixtape "Cozz & Effect" in 2014 and signed with J. Cole's Dreamville Records the following year. Cozz's music is known for clever wordplay, jazz-inspired beats and introspective lyrics. His debut album "Nothin' Personal" was released in 2016. Cozz's second album "Effected" was released in 2018 and peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart. His latest release is the 2019 single "Addicted". Cozz continues to record with Dreamville artists and has toured with J. Cole, Wale and Bas."
