About The Artist
"La Roux is an English synth-pop act formed in 2006 by singer Eleanor "Elly" Jackson and record producer Ben Langmaid. Their music incorporates elements of synth-pop and new wave. The band's name refers to Jackson's red hair and tomboyish appearance, mingling the French masculine word for "redhead" and feminine article, thus meaning "Red-haired one." Their debut album La Roux (2009) was a critical and commercial success, winning a Grammy Award. They returned in 2014 with their second album, Trouble in Paradise after Langmaid departed from the group. As of now, La Roux functions as Elly Jackson’s solo project."
