"Lute is an American hip hop recording artist from Charlotte, North Carolina. He began rapping in high school and gained notoriety for his collaborations with artists like J. Cole, DaBaby, Rapsody and Buddy. Lute signed with J. Cole's Dreamville Records in 2015 and released his debut mixtape "West 1996, Pt. 2" the following year. Lute's music is known for storytelling lyrics, soulful production and themes of life in the American South. His debut album "West 1996 Pt. 2" was released in 2017, followed by "West 1996 Pt. 3" in 2018. Lute's latest release is the 2020 single "Myself". He has toured with Dreamville labelmates J.I.D, Bas and Cozz. Lute continues to record at the Dreamville studio in Raleigh, North Carolina."
