About The Artist

In 1988, together with Terrence Parker, Mark é─˛MKé' Kinchen was part of the US duo Separate Minds for the techno/soul cut, é─˛We Need Somebodyé'. Kinchen went on to engineer on many of the early Inner City Records, and most of Kevin Saundersoné's associated KMS label product, having been adopted as é─˛studio mascoté' by Saunderson from the age of 17 onwards. He began to make records on his own as MK - like é─˛Mirror Mirroré'. However, he was still eclipsed by his boss, and he elected to relocate to New York, recording songs like é─˛Play The Worldé'. This was somewhat removed from the traditional Detroit sound, confounding expectations. A good example was the é─˛Burniné'é' single (featuring vocal support from Alana Simon), given a UK release after success as an import on Kinchené's own Area 10 label in 1992. He returned to the Separate Minds name for é─˛2nd Bassé' in 1992, a full three and a half years since recording é─˛1st Bassé'. Among other nom de plumes he also records as 4th Measure Men. He has also remixed for Bizarre Inc and Masters At Work (é─˛Cané't Stop The Rhythmé').
