The Wood Brothers are "one of the most acclaimed folk bands in the contemporary music scene." Oliver Wood, who previously played guitar in the blues-rock band King Johnson, joined forces with his brother Chris, who is a bassist for the jazz trio Medeski Martin & Wood. The duo began exploring their shared love for folk, blues, and roots music and formed The Wood Brothers in 2004. Jano Rix joined the band later, adding percussion and various instruments to their sound.
